Landscaping Homes for Fire Survivors

A landscape for homes for Fire Survivors

Elder Creek is proud to be included on a ground-breaking model for providing a high quality, temporary, living environment for survivors of the Sonoma County Fires. Our dear friends at Daily Acts and Eighth Wave have brought us in with the greater team of Homes for Sonoma to work on this amazing project.

Our lead landscape architect, Alan Villimare, worked closely with Brianna Shaefer, of  Daily Acts,  to create a landscape that used the Sonoma County Water Agency’s WELO compliant landscape templates and adapted it to a very challenging site.

The Elder Creek team worked closely to Eighth Wave and Daily Acts to develop the planting plan, consulted to address challenging drainage issues and to optimize the irrigation plan to make it budget conscious, durable, and easy to install.

This type of project brings together the opportunity to work with talented people towards a purposeful goal while forcing us to think outside of industry standards to reduce costs while maintaining quality.

Please consider following Daily Acts and Homes for Sonoma and joining us for one of the many volunteer days that make such magical projects happen. I promise, you will walk away with much more than you give in a day.
